On 20th August 2024, Arena Academy hosted theyr first Multiplier Event "For a Sustainable Earth".
This session had Dr. Ashutosh Tiwari as main speeker and took place at the Arena Academy, in Sweden.
Dr. Ashutosh Tiwari, with his international journey spanning over two and a half decades while working in USA, Japan, India, UK, China and Sweden, epitomizes the quintessence of academic excellence, research profundity, innovative translational applications, and entrepreneurial foresight. Dr. Tiwari, the Founder Director of the Institute of Advanced Materials, IAAM, Sweden is a distinguished scientist and technocrat entrepreneur. Dr. Tiwari is a keen believer in the power of innovation and technology and has the vision of enhancing its availability in transdisciplinary fields. Dr. Tiwari is listed among World’s Top 2% Scientists list of Stanford University. He works genuinely for the advancement of Green and Sustainable practices, in line with the recommendations of United Nations and European Commission for climate neutrality.
Climate change mitigation and adaptation are two main approaches to actively respond to climate change and thereby reduce its adverse social and economic impacts. Climate action research is to understand how climate change can be mitigated and adapted using scientific, technical, and administrative resources. The United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development consisting of 17 Goals covers the eradication of poverty, improved livelihoods, food security, education, gender equality, energy access, sustainable consumption and production, climate change reduction, ocean and terrestrial resource use, and peaceful and inclusive societies In the European Union, the new growth strategy, the European Green Deal, aims to make EU the first climate-neutral continent, to grow the economy without increasing resource use, and to leave no one behind. Climate change mitigation and adaptation should support the efforts of countries and regions to achieve the SDGs and the European Green Deal 2050 targets.
The focus was on mitigation an adaptation strategies and theyr importance in assuring the protection of the ecossistems, ensuring water and food security.
